Re-Wire Your Brain to the Positive

Each thought is a choice. We can train our minds to strive towards the positive, by re-working our thought process, so that we focus on the good in people and see the silver lining. This is easier said than done, but when you do the work of re-wiring your brain, you’ll see the difference having a positive outlook has.

I started this conversation in yesterday’s post about having an awareness of your judgements and jealousies, for what you put out is what you receive in return.

People like to play the victim and say that bad things just happen to them. Even I fall into this trap sometimes. It’ll feel like everything is going wrong, and I’ll question why these things are happening to me.

When I found out about my apartment? It was also my last day at a company I’d been with for 2 1/2 hours. A dude from Craigslist called me a bitch after I didn’t respond quick enough to his texts about an apartment. I received an email from my abusive ex-boyfriend. And a stranger was knocking on my door at 1 am.

To be honest, I’m not quite sure the root cause, but you better believe I’m searching for it. These things don’t just happen. I somehow started attracting all these negative things into my life.

One way I’ve been combatting it is to focus on the positive of my apartment. Because this is an opportunity to create positive change in my life, I just have to make it. If I keep focusing on all the shitty things happening, I would continue to attract more and worse things into my life. And who wants that?

So now, it’s time to stripe everything down and look into what’s been stressing me out beneath the surface. What have I been ignoring that was secretly pulling more and more power behind my back? I have to be brutally honest with myself, so that I can truly discover what’s the root cause and fix it.

Awareness is key to living a fulfilled life.

We have to be willing to look at our inner life with a critical eye. We have to be willing to listen. And we have to be willing to make changes when we need them.

Change isn’t easy or fast, but we must always be adapting. I’m not who I was a year ago, six months ago, or even a few weeks ago. I want to constantly be striving to be the best version of myself and that person should always be leveling up.

Be honest with yourself and look into what you’ve been ignoring.

Are you attracting positivity into your life?

Are you listening to what the universe is trying to tell you?

And most importantly, are you willing to grow?

The universe can be so giving if we are willing to give back. Nurture her, and she will nurture you.
